Abstract

The plenary and breakout sessions of the multidisciplinary 4th All-Russian (19th) Scientific Youth Workshop Conference “Youth and Science in the North – 2022” provided a more detailed insight into particularly important issues of fundamental medicine and current physiological research conducted by young Russian scientists, including that in the European North of Russia. At the moment, the most relevant are studies on hypoxia and hypoxic training for athletes, as well as functioning of the
cardiovascular system and consequences of COVID-19. Participating in the “Fundamental Sciences to Medicine” section, the author of this paper reported on one of the important topics of endocrine research in the European North of Russia, namely, photoperiodic dynamics of thyroid profile parameters, being key regulators of the body’s metabolic processes that play a significant role in its adaptation to changes in the environment.
