The article is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the journal Vestnik of Northern (Arctic) Federal University and covers main milestones of its development as well as enumerates scientists and specialists of Pomor State University and Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov involved in the journal establishment, development and promotion in the scientific world. The journals that have evolved from the original Vestnik are named, the prospects and opportunities of this modern scientific edition are described.
