Review of the book: Shchepikhin S.A. Memoirs of 1918–1920. Moscow, 2024. 976 p. ISBN 978-5-907396-34-0 (in Russ.).
This paper dwells on the memoirs of Major General S.A. Shchepikhin, a prominent figure in the anti-Bolshevik movement and participant in the Civil War in eastern Russia. The review describes not only the memoirs and their problematic use as a historical source, but also Shchepikhin himself as a memoirist and his writing process. In addition, the paper devotes some attention to the work of the book’s editor and commentator.
