Abstract

This article dwells on the Second National Forum of History Teachers which took place in Tobolsk in October 2023. The paper covers the forum’s main results as well as the work of its sections and plenary session and characterizes the key reports and speeches by scholars and university teachers, leaders of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, State Duma, Russian Academy of Sciences, Russian Academy of Education, Russian Historical Society and other organizations. In addition, the article analyses the forum’s significance for the development of historical science and higher education in Russia, as well as the agenda of the next forum scheduled to be held in 2024.
