The book under review is interesting in that it outlines the author’s approach to understanding the architectonics of a literary text. Based on a comparison of trends in world literature – from classical antiquity, through the Renaissance, to the late modern period – V.A. Kukharenko presents her vision of the literary text’s title, epigraph and structure as well as its varieties, such as simple and complex linear composition, frame composition, and composition according to the “matryoshka” principle. In addition, the author identifies the functions of the insert text and expresses some ingenuous ideas related to intertextuality.
