The Interdisciplinary Nature of Scientific Text Preparation Technology

Abstract

As an extraordinary type of scientific activity, scientific presentation requires special approaches to description and study. The author of this book convincingly demonstrates that interdisciplinarity is one of the most effective approaches to the technology of scientific text preparation. The relevance of this guide is determined, firstly, by its practical nature and, secondly, by the author’s desire to present the preparation of a scientific text as a separate, self-sufficient discipline with its own subject area and methodology. The relevance of the interdisciplinary nature of the study is supported by the fact that the technology of preparing scientific texts emerged at the intersection of rhetoric, speech culture, communication theory, textology, and other branches of linguistics. The author’s approach takes the book beyond the scope of a narrowly applied manual and makes it an important methodological resource for linguistics and pedagogy.
